Weekend tech support

Saturday we both slept in until around 8am, which felt wonderful. There was a ward cleanup activity in the late afternoon, but we were both too tired and behind on stuff, so we decided to just stay at home all day. Good thing, because it was a full day. I caught up on a bunch of paperwork, backed up our laptops, and worked on my lesson for several hours.

At 1pm the Millets came by for some tech help. They are a wonderful couple, here for a second time as a senior couple. She is the mission nurse. Neither one speaks Italian, which poses its challenges for them, and they definitely have need for tech support. She had troubles with her gmail account, which turned out to be that her 15GB storage allotment was full. For $2/month, she could increase that to 100GB, which I convinced them as the best option. I helped them configure their gmail security settings for their phones here, and I also got WhatsApp working on both phones. Anziano Millet was so excited at a number of the things I showed him how to do on their computers, such as using Google Drive, Google Calendar, and WhatsApp Web. It was rewarding to help them so much, but they were here 2.5 hours before we told them we needed to get other stuff done; otherwise we could have spent a lot more time.

Next I went out and filled up the car, then took it to get washed and vacuumed. After that I walked down to Conad and got a bunch of produce for us. I also spoke with my mom on the phone. Most of the evening was spent on preparing my Gospel Doctrine lesson, covering all of Jeremiah. Ugo will teach the next couple of weeks.

Dee and I took half an hour off in the evening to watch some Dry Bar Comedy on YouTube together. It is from a comedy club in Provo, and they have some hilarious and clean comedy routines. Dee has become a fan of that channel. We really laughed hard at Sam Woodhull, especially the one about always being late, which you can enjoy here.

Sister Millet asked me about a hair product she bought. It said it was mousse, but it was actually conditioner. The word for mousse is spuma. So I showed her the one I have, then we went to our local Chinese store to get her some. She found all kinds of things she liked or needed. It was fun.

They live in a brand new apartment complex, which looks really nice and even has grass. But she told me they have a small undivided sink in the kitchen so it's hard to do the dishes. They have two bathrooms, but the one with a stall shower has no surround, so they can't use it. The trashcans outside are way too small for their complex, and they don't have many shops nearby. So, our older apartment has its perks!

I worked on my Primary lesson. I like to make original art, and the kids really respond to it. I'll tell you tomorrow about the object lesson. I also cleaned the house a little, and did four loads of the eternal laundry.
