All day at home

Saturday was to have been a fairly busy afternoon and evening, with a ward barbecue followed by a GANS dance. Unfortunately, I woke up around 5am feeling a bit strange, and I got up and slept a while propped up on the couch in the living room. My energy level was very low, and I couldn't concentrate very well. It was almost as if I had a fever, but my wife tested my forehead and said it wasn't overly warm. Anyway, I simply felt cruddy most of the day and didn't leave our apartment complex, doing just a minimal amount of exercise in the morning and taking a nap for almost two hours before noon. So we skipped all activities, and by evening I was feeling a bit better. I spent time preparing my Sunday School lesson, reading some online commentary and listening to a podcast about the lesson on Mormon Interpreter.

Dee writes: While Doug was sleeping, I went to Conad for groceries--he even relinquished choosing his own pears--and also to the Chinese store. It was pleasantly crisp outside and I really enjoyed the walk and leisurely shopping. They finally had some aprons, and I got one. We both use aprons a lot, and I can't keep enough on hand. Then I came home and worked on my Relief Society lesson. I have three lessons to teach this week: FHE, family history and RS. We're definitely busier than before, and I have to try hard to fit in prep for that many lessons in one week. I was sorry to miss the parties, but glad to have more study time.

Dee had ordered a Pyrex covered casserole dish a few days earlier from Amazon. We only had a couple of glass bowls that can be used in a microwave, and she had been wanting a large one. Unfortunately, it arrived with the lid chipped. She arranged an exchange on Thursday, and the new one was delivered to our door Saturday morning. We love Amazon's customer service!

By the evening, I was feeling a lot better. I hope it lasts--we'll see.
