Friday morning we slept in after being our late for dinner. It was a day spent mostly at home. I walked to the Chinese store for a couple of things in the morning, and in the afternoon I went out for a couple of hours to the help the Benincosas. I drove them to the mall to do some grocery shopping, then spent time with him at their apartment getting Google Voice all set up to take over his old US cell number. The Groove IP phone app isn't working yet on their iPhones -- it was originally for Android only and apparently they don't have all the kinks worked out yet on iOS. While I was out, I also washed and filled the car in preparation for our trip Saturday.
Since our daughter Chiara is coming to see us over the Christmas holiday, we realized that maybe we can send home a suitcase with her to hold for us until we get home just over two months later. We almost certainly have more stuff now than can fit in our suitcase allotment, so we could put a bunch of summer clothes in there at that point, for example. We will see if that plan works out.
The rest of the afternoon was spent working on our PowerPoint presentations for the YSA conference, as well as packing. Having two trips in three weeks is quite a change for us. It will be nice to get back to our more normal Institute schedule. I added a couple of topics to my tech presentation, entitled "Preserving and Protecting Your Digital Data", after my trial run ended up pretty short. I hope that it will be of interest to a bunch of the kids. We got to bed late with all the stuff that needed to be done.
